They are saws cutting through water as they swim

Their fur is a fluffy pom pom when dry

Their eyes are black skys with twinkling stars

Plump plumes lying in the sun

Their little teeth are blunt pencils waiting to be sharpend

Pigs have tails as curly as springs

They are as bouncey  as bunnies 

Their bodies are pink like the flowers in the summer 

Their oinks are as squeaky as the birds in the morning 

They are cute like puppies 

Egypt Day

Today was Egypt Day. We made canopic jars, sarcophagi and mummies. We had to dress up like an Egyptain.I went as Cleopatra. Most of the girls were wearing gold and blue makeup with eyeliner. My favorite part was making the conopic jars. We also made some artifacts that go into a pyramid. We wraped our mummies in toilet paper and bandages.The conopic jars, sarcophagi and mummies were all made of clay. Everyone looked so cool in their egyptain clothes.

        

 

    

 

 

 

 

 

My Draak

My draak het baie skerp naels. Sy het blou oë en hulle is groot. Die stert is baie sterk. Vis is my draak se gunsteling kos en haar maag groot is. Die liggaan van my draak is swart en haar vlerke is al kleure van die rëënboog. Pienk is my draak se gunsteling kleure dit is hoekom sy gelukkig is . Haar ore,wenkbroue en neusgate is pienk. Haar rug is rond oranje spykers daarop. My draak het ssneeu wit tande. Skrikwekkend vlamme kom uit haar bek wanneer sy kwaad is . Hardloop is nie haar gunsteling ding nie, want haar bene is kort. Haar tone is lang. Ek is lief vir my draak want sy is vriendelike.

 

ILT feedback

This ILT was very interesting. I liked doing the play and making our musical instruments.I think my group worked very well together. We hardly fought and we all listened to each other's ideas. I thought everybody's instruments were good. In the play everyone talked loud and clearly. Learning about informal settlements helped us realize that we have lots of things that some people don't have.

A day in the life of a child in an informal settlement

I woke up this morning feeling cold and hungry. I was very unhappy because it had rained last night and my house was flooded. My mom was outside doing the washing and my dad was trying to fix a leak in our roof. I hoped that there was food ready but there was none. I got change out of my pajamas and walked down to the shop to get some bread. The last few days it had rained a lot and I would love it the sun would come out. We have no electricity and I wondered what it would be like to have electricity, watching tv with my family not having to light candles to give us light.


Later that day I played with my sister with a soccer bal. We asked if our neighbors wanted to play but they were to busy helping their mom with washing  so we asked our other neighbors . We have a lot of y since our shacks are so close together. Then it started to rain a d I had to go inside but it was still cold inside our shack.


I had bread for dinner again. On Saturday we normally buy a slab of chocolate for a treat. Today was Friday. After dinner got ready for bed. I was so tired I fell asleep really quickly.

Today was the worst day ever. The singing inspector came. His name was Mr Raymond. He was a tall man with a serious face. He had a hat on his head and a brown jacket. He said we had to sing so he picked Benny and Charles.They just stood there and didn't say a word until Mr Raymond shouted at them. Then they sang Pretty Polly it was terrible they sang completely out of tune. Then he picked me I was terrified I was shaking so much I could not say a word. He started shouting at me. That was the worst day I have ever had.

Soil Creature ILT

I think ILT was really fun. I thoughts the oral was a bit difficult and there was a bit of challenges but it was still fun. Talana and I did our project on Meerkats. First we had to search a lot of information on Meerkats. We had to search things like what it eats and what it looks like. It took quite a long time.

 Then had to make a poster on our soil creature.We found it quite hard to fit everything on the poster but we still managed to fit everything on . I didn't really like the tally or the graph.The tally was on insects and things you find in the soil. I really enjoyed making the iMovie and watching all the iMovies. we did an oral on Meerkats and I enjoyed listening to the other orals.
